Vintage Poster DIY Wall Decor

I don't know about ya'll but I love the look of colorful vintage posters on walls. If you have ever been to the Nashville airport, then you know what I am talking about. They are so colorful and unique and I love how they look put up in homes.

I had been searching on Etsy for printable versions, but they were just really pricey. Add the cost of the print to a frame, and this was easily going to be over a $100 project.

This past weekend we went downtown to watch jet boat races for our 6 year anniversary. (Romantic, I know!)

While we were there we decided to walk around Broadway and stop in some of the little unique stores that were on the strip. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed some of the vintage prints, but the size of a postcard. Even better was that they were only .75 cents! Obviously I wanted larger ones, but with those being $30 a pop, I quickly decided I could make the postcards work, and have them framed nicely for our bedroom.

They had so many to choose from, but we decided to stick with a "Nashville" theme, and chose 4 Nashville postcards. On the way home we stopped at Home Goods, and I picked up 4 large white frames for $8 each.

This project cost us less than $40. I even recycled the interior paper in the frame, by flipping it over, and using it as my "mat" for my postcards. I used hot glue to glue the postcards onto the back of the paper, and let put that back in the frames.

We are currently working on making our master bedroom more industrial, and I think the postcards definitely helped add a unique touch to the room. (Please excuse our bed, it is messy and we are using a temporary comforter until our new one comes in...basically it is a hot mess at the moment!)

I have seen these postcards in quite a few different larger cities around, so no matter where you live this would be a great and inexpensive DIY project for you to do!

Enjoy!
