How is October already here? Anyone else feel like it was just March and we were going to 2398403284 places to find toilet paper? This year has flown by, and the holidays are officially upon us and I am so excited about it!
Take a peek around at our Halloween decor this year! I wanted to do something bright and colorful inside, and keep the fall tones for our porch and patio.
The colorful pumpkins have been a hit and were a super easy DIY! I purchased several bags of the mixed pumpkins from Hobby Lobby and then several small cans of different color spray paints. Then I got to work painting each color in various sizes and they turned out adorable!
Another DIY was the witch hats on the kids photo's. I just found a black hat image on google, printed them out, and taped them to the front of the frame. Voila! Easy, cute, and free Halloween decor!
My favorite piece of decor though is going to be the paper bats I found in the dollar spot at Target. I have put them everywhere and they are so cute! Also super inexpensive, $3 for 100-ish bats! Steal!
My biggest piece of advice for any kind of holiday decorating is this: Buy early, and buy late! What does that mean? Every year I start buying decor for the holidays early. As in, I was picking up fall and Halloween decor in July. This allowed me to buy a little each week, so that I wasn't spending a ton of money at once on decor. I am doing the same with Christmas. I have already been stocking up on ornaments and Christmas decor for this year. As for the buy late part, plan ahead! I always shop after holidays when stores mark stuff down anywhere from 50-90% off and put it up for the following year. This is the best way to save money and always have new stuff to put out so you don't get bored using the same things year after year!
