It's been a while since I have shared the kids rooms, and a lot has changed since I shared them last. I know I have said it before, but I think one of the biggest challenges I faced with Gunner's room, was trying to decide on a theme. Before he was born, I just knew I wanted a vintage military themed room. Well then Target came out with this amazing black and white modern line for nurseries and I had to incorporate that into it somehow. Then we moved to our new home and I decided I needed his room to be more colorful to showcase his personality. So through all of that, his room has just became a modge podge of everything that makes us, us, and I absolutely love how his room has turned into a "what little boys are made of" theme.
That big letter g behind is crib is one of my favorite pieces in his room. I found the print on Etsy from this shop and knew it was exactly what I was looking for. I then bought a cheap $15 frame from Walmart and hung it up! The chandelier was something I found at Bargain Hunt but it is actually from Target and can be found here. I personally love it in gold but when I found the silver for $50 I couldn't pass it up!
The rope shelves we kept from our old house and I got them from Hobby Lobby.
I get a lot of questions about how they are hung, and we just bought cheap hooks from Walmart and use them to hang them up. We have never had an issue with them falling or coming loose.
The medals are all from C's military service and we wanted to incorporate them into Gunner's room so that he always has a reminder of how brave his dad was for serving in our military.
The green lanterns I purchases from a local thrift store, but they had a tag on the bottom for a party store place so I would be willing to bet Party City or some place similar would have some!
The black and white globe is one of my favorite pieces! You can find it at Target in the office supply section, or online here .
Those little green army men bookends are the best! I scored them for a deal at our local Marshall's but Ebay also has them as well!
C has loved airplanes his entire life, and Gunner has a love for them as well. So it was only fitting that we used some of Chris's old toy airplanes from when he was a kid to decorate Gunner's room with. To hang the airplanes I simply just screwed eye hooks into the ceiling, and used thing twine to tie into the hooks that were on the top of the airplanes. Violia!
I will post a separate tutorial on the galvanized metal lights, but they are awesome! They are not hardwired into the wall, but instead they are hung with a nail and I used puck lights inside them and can turn them on and off with a remote!
The alphabet garland was a yard sale find for .50 cents! I simply took the flash cards and taped the back of them to twine. Then huge them using tacks and I love the color it brings to little mans room!
The vintage fan, and scrabble letters were both purchased at the Nashville Flea Market (One of my favorite places to visit!) and the wooden camera was purchased from Ali Express, but you can also get them on Etsy!
Being that we live in the Nashville area, I have always loved Hatch Show Prints, but they are pretty pricey. A lot of thrift stores around here have them, but want $50 plus a print. So when I found this Rascal Flats print for $1.50, I knew I had to put it in his room. Rascal Flatts holds a special place in my heart from when I was a teenager, so it was super fitting for me that he have it in his room. Eventually one of C's guitars is going to be hanging in his room, we just haven't gotten around to it yet.
The little rocker you see I purchased from Amazon, and while I can't find the exact one, here is one similar but in blue. Definitely search "kids white eames rocking chair" and you should be able to find one in white!
The lighting bolt and animal heads were Target and Hobby Lobby finds! This little light adds so much character to this space and saves us from having to use all 9 light bulbs that his chandelier uses.
The cart I found at Bargain Hunt, and use it to store his smaller toys such as blocks, cars, and legos.
The last few details to share with you are his crib, and wallpaper!
The crib is a jenny lind style crib, that we purchased from Amazon. It already came black so I was so happy we didn't have to repaint it. The bedding is from the cloud island line at Target!
The wallpaper was another one of my best finds ever from Bargain Hunt. I got it for $6 a tube and used 4.5 tubes! You can still purchase it from Target here, but it is pretty pricey! The thing I love most about this wallpaper is that the seams are easily hidden because the pattern doesn't have to line up perfectly!
I absolutely love the character that Gunner's room has and I love how it is made up of so many different things that are important to us and hopefully one day, to him as well!
If you have any questions on where something came from, please feel free to comment and I will let you know!
