Hello!

Hi everyone! I hope this post finds you all well.

For those of you who don't me, I used to be the face behind Erin's Diary. However, with us having just started a new chapter in our lives, I decided it was time to start fresh with my blog as well. I absolutely love blogging, but with the move, I lost sight of it. So this is to me starting over, and keeping up with what I really love doing, which is sharing our life with you all.

So, incase you don't know who I am, here's a little introduction for you.

I'm Erin. I married C in June of 2010, and moved to Washington where C was stationed in the USAF. In May of 2013, we welcomed our first baby girl, Ainsley.  We were stationed in Washington for 5 years, and the time came when we had to decide whether to re-enlist, or move home. Let me be the first to tell you, there is no struggle quite like trying to do decide the fate of your livelihood. So we made a choice. C applied for a BOP (base of preference) as his re-enlistment incentive, and we both agreed that if they didn't send us to either Charleston, SC, or somewhere in Florida, we would not re-enlist. We waited, and we waited, and we waited some more, and heard no word about getting orders. We then came to the conclusion that we were going to be stuck in Washington if he re-enlisted, so we decided then and there he would not re-enlist. I bought mine and Ainsley's plane tickets to fly home, and I started applying for jobs, where I eventually accepted one. The day after I accepted this job (kid you not), we got orders. Where you might ask? Deleware. Definitely not part of the plan. Closer to home yes, but Deleware? So we sat down and we talked about it, and we thought about it, and I thought about all of the cool things, all of the good things that Deleware could give us. But there was something in my gut that just kept telling me no. So we stuck to the original plan, denied the orders, and A and I moved home in July of 2014, with C joining us in November of 2014.

So that brings us to the now. We are currently living in Tennessee, where our family is. It has been so nice getting to be around family, and having Ainsley growing up knowing who they are. She loves her family so much, and for that reason alone I don't think we will ever regret our decision to leave the military.  It has however, been quite an adjustment, but we are learning and navigating as we go, and are learning so much in the process.

So now that you know the backstory, how about a little bit more of the "fun" stuff.  I am currently working full time and working on getting my photography business up and going on the side, which I am sure you will see lots of on here. I am also obsessed with decorating and DIY projects. I drive my husband crazy because I am literally changing our decor up on a daily basis, but what can I say, I get bored easily? I love going to thrift stores and flea markets, so if anyone knows of any good hidden treasure places around middle Tennessee, please share!

Now what about C and Ainsley? C is the most hardworking, generous person I know. He is amazing and I truly don't give him enough credit. He is definitely the voice of reason in our household and I am so thankful for that because I am one giant ball of stress most of the time. Ainsley is quite possibly the most perfect mix between the two of us and I love it. I love that she got her daddy's adventurous attitude, but I can already see it in her that she is going to love learning, and education just like her mama. She is my favorite person, and I honestly don't know how we ever lived life without her.

Well that was our story in a nutshell! Stay tuned...
